Position Summary
Workforce Development instructors and trainers will instruct short-term, certificate, and customized courses in accordance with demand from business and industry clients.
Courses range from one day to several months in length, depending on course requirements.
Expertise in subject matter areas that programs may be built around will be determined by the College.
SALARY: Certificate Course Instructors are paid an hourly rate based on expertise and experience, not to exceed 19 hours per week.
Part-time positions are posted based on the possible availability of a future assignment which are sporadic and may not occur.
Available positions are contingent upon enrollment and instructional needs of the College.

Provide classroom and laboratory instruction on various equipment and machinery.
Coordinate and when necessary prepare lesson plans and/or classroom activities.
Present and when necessary, develop and prepare, supplemental materials to enhance learning.
Present laboratory assignments to provide hands on experiences as appropriate.
Maintain accurate records of student attendance, and performance.
Maintain other records and databases according to program needs, accreditation, or grant requirements.

Provide technical laboratory assistance to students either in a classroom or laboratory setting in the area of expertise.
Demonstrate a thorough and accurate knowledge of their field or discipline.
Prepares orientation and testing schedules.
Assess student needs, and guide them at a level the student can understand.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: Student Learning.
Evaluate the progress of students in all classes according to institutional, divisional, departmental, and individual criteria.
Assists with the evaluation of student progress at frequent intervals by means of examinations, paper, and other methods as appropriate.
Assists with evaluation procedures to ensure that students meet stated course objectives.
Grades and returns materials within a reasonable time.
Collects, maintains, and submits course documentation and student information to appropriate College offices as required.
Demonstrates sensitivity to student needs and circumstances.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTION: College Expectations.
Dependability, attendance, punctuality, and a commitment to do the job right are essential at all times.
Reports to work on time, at appropriate workstation or department during all departmental/position scheduled work days and during all departmental/position scheduled work hours.
Understands that failure to report for work and/or reporting late without prior approval are unacceptable practices and will result in disciplinary action.
Performs a productive full day's work.
Ensures that service to students and the general public is top priority.
Demonstrates a considerate, friendly, respectful and constructive attitude toward fellow employees and students.
Adheres to all College and System policies and procedures.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications Appropriate education, experience, and certification/license in related field is required.
Coursework and/or experience in specialty area is required.
Master's degree and related teaching experience is preferred.
