The Lecturer/Assistant/Associate Professor position in the College of Education at Dothan is a tenure-track position in the Department of Counseling, Rehabilitation, and Interpreter Training.
The position is responsible for teaching graduate courses in Rehabilitation and Clinical Mental Health Counseling; pursuit of scholarship and research; service on committees at all levels, and involvement in service to the community.
This position also includes administrative responsibilities such as advising graduate students, supervising Practicum and Internship students, scheduling counseling courses, recruiting students for the program, proctoring and grading comprehensive examinations, attending faculty meetings, and attending required region meetings for faculty.
In Class Teaching Percentage Online Teaching Percentage Minimum Qualifications
1.
Earned doctorate degree in counselor education from an accredited institution, with preference given to graduates of a CACREP program
2.
Licensed as a professional counselor or Certified Rehabilitation Counselor
3.
Demonstrated ability to conduct a successful program of scholarship and publication
Preferred Qualifications
1.
Familiarity with CACREP accreditation expectations
2.
Experience teaching in a higher education setting
3.
Experience as a clinical mental health counselor
4.
License or license-eligible in Alabama as a mental health counselor
